History of stationary bikes
Every talk should start with the begining, so we will do the same for our used stationary bikes site. Stationary bikes are not a new buzz in the training world, they exist in various forms more then 200 years. Everything started when Francis Lowndes invented Gymntasticon in 1796. It was an very exercise machine very similar to modern stationary bikes. However machine was not emerged out of nothing, thanks goes to advancing of orthopedic science and contuining understanding of human body.
Main idea for the machine was to keep joints of whole body in fit condition.
The Gymnasticon had a set of flywheels that connected the wooden treadles for the feet to cranks for the hands, which could drive each other or operate independently.
